This is a simple trick, though. Once you're happy with the results, make space for smaller furniture. Most small walls are made of three-dimensional material, with the majority of furniture that you make from wood. The only way you can make a wall that will last will be by making it smaller. (Try this with a kitchen door. This is especially useful if you've got an outdoor bathroom.)

There are two kinds of fabric. Some are thicker than others, but you'll be better served by finding the fabric you like. I do use fabric that has natural rubber and can withstand heat extremely well; using a piece of fabric that has been washed twice or more in cold water can also help.

Wipe the plastic off your wall with a paper towel before using, and let it do as you go. It will get easier with time.

I love the idea to make one of these on a single counter-top countertop, but sometimes its easier to do this as one part of a multi-tile wall. I recommend a smaller piece of wood, like a bench or table.
