The paper is based on her research on a new type of flowering plant—the pyrethra—the "mycophagus".

In a study published last year by the British Plant Research Association, Günter Günter from the Institute of Applied Physiology at the University of Exeter analysed hundreds of pyrethra plants.

He said: "The most important thing about these plants is that they're growing to be very young, are very diverse and live in different environments.

"Each pyrethra has its own niche and each plant is different in its own way, and also different in how they adapt. So there is a lot of variation up to the plant.

"Each pyrethra gives different qualities of being 'bewildered' and 'diverse'."

Günter said that although these fruits and vegetables were great for flowers and gardeners, when you grow them around in the soil and use them that can also be hazardous to the environment.

To help manage the environment Günter analysed how pyrethra grow with respect to the soil and vegetation, including soil particles, soil chemicals and soil bacteria.

A number of factors were analysed, including temperature, height, age, light, soil fertility and soil oxygen levels at different times during the growing season.
