Seeds will always be planted as seedlings or buds of an individual.
The plant will grow into seedlings or seeds if it is so needed to grow or replace seedlings.
Seedlings may be replaced when needed, even if only for certain special circumstances. A new seed is required for every plant that is not currently available to breed. The above are examples of breeding plants which cannot be used for new growth.
Where to breed your own seeds
You can breed your own seed-specific plants, so that they are compatible with your needs.
When should you breed them?
You should go through the process of making sure that you breed everything. I'd normally breed your old seeds at least once every year, but if you get into a situation where you can't breed your seeds within a certain time frame, you may breed your new seeds a half-year after you decide what to do. Your goal should be that all of your seeds are compatible, and your new seeds will breed right out of the box.
If you decide not to breed at all you can start your own seedlings. Use a seedling as an example:
Choose the best one from available stock and place one seedling into a seed box and place your seeds inside.
Keep the seed box clear and put them in a well-ventilated area
